72 350 ac muffler and hose asembly

Is there anyone who makes a correct ac muffler and hose asembly for a 72 350 air car? Thanks Rick 26319

I inquired to one of the two big air conditioning companies that cater to old cars, was told they can tig new aluminum (the part they crimp on to rubber hoses) to your original manifold and fittings. The dies they crimp with may be different then oem though. I didn't have it done yet though, was still holding out hope for a NOS one ( ha, ha,ha...)

I saw a repo with the square block on Ebay for a 73 vette made by Old Air. I don't believe the crimped fitting was of a correct configuration tho.

Russ thats a big part of the problems with our C3 Corvettes, the crimping on all of the pressure fittings are different, even NOS parts. This goes for power strg. hoses, brake hoses, a/c hoses, chances are even with some of the vintage NOS parts in the old GM or Delco boxes are different.

You would think that some one out there would know who made these hoses for GM and be able to find the original crimping equipment.

The issue is that a different crimp style was dictated beginning in the early 1980s. Even brake lines have a different style crimp now than in the past. I know the brake line crimp is mandated by the DOT for safety reasons, but I don't know what organization controls the AC crimp. It could well be the same environmental agreements that did away with R 12. Even if one had the old equipment, and there may be some around, finding a business willing to risk using it would be problematic.
