Sending unit sock; 5651702 correct for C2?

I was about to purchase a fuel sending unit strainer (sock) from my GM dealer (GM #5651702) when I took a look at what Paragon shows for that GM part number. Paragon says 5651702 applies to '75-'81 Corvette, and that strainer has a different geometry (see Paragon part attached) than what I expeced to seeing for '56-'74 (also attached; Paragon item). Paragon gives no GM part number for the '56-'74 strainer. Does anyone know if GM sells a different strainer for '56-'74 or does GM # 5651702 service C2s as well as '75-'81?

FWIW I purchased my gas filter sock from DR REBUILD a few years ago. It installed correctly and is working well. No fitment issues. #3001124. Listed as OEM.

The one on the right is the correct configuration and looks just like the one I put on my restored sending unit. I can't believe there are more than one manufacturer of these parts anymore. My sock fit the "Dakota" unit just fine but as I said it was just a little loose on my original unit and it only took a slight whack to make it stay on without a pretty good pull to get it off. The distortion was visibly unobservable. Let us know how yours fits.
