I am in the market to buy a four post lift for my garage. I have race ramps and a kwik lift. I want to purchase (once and for all) a safe four post lift. I have looked at many however I need the biggest bang for my buck and something that will fit in my regular size garage. I have found a car-park-8 and the specs indicate that it will fit in my garage. I was wondering if any of you guys and gals have one of these and what do you think of it. Any help would be great. After shipping I will probably drop 2 grand which is a fairly good price compared to other lifts. thanks fred

The Revolution Lift from Rotary. I know of no other with quality as good as these.

Re: four post car lift
I purchased a Direct Lift 5 years ago and just love it. Be sure to get aluminum ramps, those steel ones get real heavy after a while.- Top

Re: four post car lift
I have two four post AutoLifters that I purchased in the mid 90's and still use. They allowed me to buy two more Corvettes to keep in my 2 car garage.
I understand they are no longer in business, however the http://www.backyardbuddy.com/ was in business when I bought my AutoLifters and are still selling.
They are similiar in construction to what I have. The lifts are really pretty easy to assemble, I did both of mine without any help. My floor jack came in handy to connect the ramps.
My lifts have a lot of good strong steel used when manufactured and will last a very long time. The electric motors are made in America.- Top

Re: four post car lift
I have had an eagle lift (model 9000XLT) for 8+ years and it has been great. I used it for storage and service and it gets lots of use. I went with the larger model (longer, supports more weight) so I could put larger vehicles, and also have more room lengthwise so the end cross supports do not get in the way..
Options to get:
Aluminum ramps
Drip pans (minimum of 3 if they are about 36") so stuff does not drip on the car below when in storage mode.
2 Jack trays so you can put the car on jack stands if needed while the car is lifted or even have a place for a jack.
Also get one that is USA made (some companies have both USA and imported ones so look closely), and also one that is certified by ALI or others.Last edited by Anthony P.; July 8, 2011, 03:20 PM.- Top

I was very recently in the same boat as you are....i.e. I had a QuikLift and wanted to go to a four post lift instead... My garage ceiling is not high enough to stack two cars so the four post lift will be servicing until such time as we can actually sell this place and head to a warmer climate.
As everyone, I wanted something safe, reasonably priced and made in the USA... I looked at the BYB and was heading in that direction... One of our fellow NCRS members installs these things for a living and recommended that I look at a Quality Lift. These guys are located in Louisville KY and their products are made in the USA.. (www.qualitylifts.com). I'm waiting on delivery of their model Q4P09H which is 9000Lb capacity vs 7000 for BYB. Their lifts are all ALI certified as well, without having the posts bolted to the floor...BYB cannot say the same... I managed to get the complete package including the longer (50") ramps (which are nice if you have a late model Vette) and the hydraulic bridge lift, delivered and installed, for about a grand less than I would have had to pay for the BYB (without installation). You can go to the Quality Lift website and download their assembly/operational manual and check it out.
Do your homework, some of the four post lifts used to be made in the USA but have moved manufacturing to China... If you want the specifics on my deal, shoot me a PM and I will be happy to share..
Have fun!

Re: four post car lift
I had looked at a Quality lift a few years ago. I do not like the "open" verticle beams.I bought an "auto lifters" lift in 2005. Closed beam with a teflon enclosed bushing that rides up the post with notches. The weight of the car helps keep the locks in place when servicing the car.I thought it was the safest design at the time. Used it for a body lift off the rolling frame when I restored my '67.........- Top
