The 22 tooth GREEN driven gear is NOT COMPATIBLE with the DRIVE gear that is compatible with the 20 tooth BLUE DRIVEN gear. If you attempt to use the GREEN DRIVEN gear, it will be "chewed up" by the installed DRIVE gear in your transmission.

However, you're in luck if you require a 22 tooth gear. You can use DRIVEN gear GM #3987922 which is a "SILVER"-colored gear. It will be compatible with your installed DRIVE gear.

If, for some reason, you require a DRIVEN gear of greater than 22 tooth count, then you will have to change the installed DRIVE gear so that you can use DRIVEN gears with 23-25 tooth count.

Here's the two 22-tooth gears that Joe mentions. The smaller dia. silver (grey) gear was not even available in the C2 [and maybe early C3] years.

My P & A catalog shows the first application of the #3987922 speedo driven gear as used with 1971 Corvette and 4 speed trans with either 3.55 or 3.70 axle ratio and F70 x 15 tire.
