Jim your picture shows the quality of the work put out by the S L factory . Upper SS fender trim misaligned by 1/2" . We are over restoring when we try to make everything perfect .

I agree completely.

I have a pair of '57 passenger car front bumper guards in near-NOS condition that clearly illustrate your point. They were removed in '57 and have been in dry storage ever since. The chrome has abundant and obvious grinder marks.

No self respecting NCRS-type restorer person would dare use chrome that looked like these parts do.
