Trying to figure if mine is a repop. Would also like to see the silkscreen since mine is long gone.

Re: need a pic of open element filter top
Mike,
Maybe we have our viewing preferences set up differently, but when I open that link post #21 is one made by me on March 29th, 2009, 06:28 PM, and contains two images of an original 1972 A212CW air filter from Corvette with less than 300 miles at that time. It now has closer to 300 miles on it, and it will likely be at Novi to receive its Fifth Star Award. Scroll down those posts and see if you can find my post of March 29th, 2009, 06:28 PM.Terry- Top

Re: need a pic of open element filter top
Perception of question: top of filter in your case or in my case the interpution was meant to be lid as Steve references to the term "silk screen".- Top

Re: need a pic of open element filter top
Now if we are talking about the air cleaner assembly lid, then we have a whole other question -- and of course I failed to address that because it wasn't the question asked. Isn't the English language a wonderful thing?
And we wonder why there are problems using the SEARCH feature of this board?Terry- Top

Re: need a pic of open element filter top
Enclosed is a photo of the remains of the silk screen on the lid on my 1969 air cleaner. I have owned the air cleaner since 1979.

Steve,
This is (I'm 99.99% certain) the original lid for a 1972.

Re: need a pic of open element filter top
I am thinking there is a reasonable facsimile as a line drawing in the 1970-72 TIM&JG. There was in the 1993 version and I think that survived into the current version. Of course that is not a picture, but then it is flat and there are no reflections in it. The original screen would have been contoured to result in a rectangular shape on a curved surface.Terry- Top
