    Brake Drum Size?

What is the max inside diameter spec for the brake drums on a 1960?

    Re: Brake Drum Size?

    Steve,

I believe on my 1963 brake drums the max diameter is 11.090 but I am going from memory here. I believe the 1960 is probably the same but not 100%..

I have a '61 Chevrolet service manual. It says: " A brake drum must not be rebored more than .060" over maximum standard diameter, since removal of more metal will effect the dissipation of heat and may cause distortion of the drum."
