Has anyone used one of the radio face kits from LIC CC or Paragon, I was wondering how they fit and the quality of the chrome, I would really just like to get the chrome face plate but can't seem to find it listed for sale by itself.

Re: C2 Am/fm Radio Face Kit
Jim,
Well, I probably have installed over a hundred face plates for the AM/FM Mid Year radios. These are made outside the US.
I don't like them for several reasons.
1. The AM/FM selector has to be modified because the hole for the radio lever won't go as deep into the center as it should.
2. The push buttons are totally wrong!
3. The face plate does not have the part number indicating to me that it's really not an authorized reproduction.
4. The push buttons can be installed upside down and wear out the clutch really quick.
5. The AM/FM selector has to be installed and it takes some practice before you can install without breaking it.
Enough reasons to use or find a good original?????

2. Other than being secured with a set screw, which can't be detected unless you pull the button out, they are identical.
3. Who cares about a non-visible part number?
4. Install them correctly and there is no problem.
5. Never had a problem with that.
To the OP. Don't waste your time looking for 45 year old parts. Take your time and install one of those kits and you'll have a radio that looks like new and will judge just fine. I haven't done hundreds like Joe but the 10 or so that I've done came out perfect.- Top
