62 Clutch Return Spring Oval Bracket Finish

What is the finish of the oval bracket that attaches the top of the spring to the clutch return spring bracket?

Bracket's and Z bar are semi gloss black.

I have an NOS one that attaches to the end of the spring. It's natural, unplated. In fact, part of it has light surface rust on it.

I know very little about C1's though so it's possible that originals installed on the assembly line were plated with something? Later service parts aren't always the exact same as original parts.
