Small block water pump rebuid kit
I recently picked up a 609 water pump that needs a rebuild. Who sells the best all around kit for this job? Quality, correct babk plate and price. Thanks Rich

Most medium to large cities have a rebuilding service that is very affordable and saves shipping costs. Maybe they would be willing to sell you a kit. I would use the backing plate off the 609 if it is the correct one. Also the fasteners if they are also correct. Let your mouse do the work and find a local rebuilder in your area by using the yellow pages.It's a good life!

I was very happy with the P1423 kit sold by "dakoninc" on Ebay.
Good bearing, 4-hole hub, etc. Very complete and reasonably priced.
Found a good illustrated step-by-step precedure on the 'net. You will need a press obviously...Comment

I too found my 609 water pump at a flea market. Sent it to Arthur Gould. He rebuilt and returned it in less than 1 week and less than $100.Comment
