Guys, I am still working on my '56. It is starting to look more and more like a car again. I hope that some day I can have it judged at a sanctioned NCRS event. I have been unable to attend a judging event as my wife is terminally ill and I can't be away from her for very long. I have the latest Judging Manual but I have no idea of how the judging process takes place and what they look for. Is there any way to get a copy of the judging sheets used when a car is judged? It sure could help in trying to build a car to NCRS specs. Thanks in advance! BTW, the car project helps me to take my mind off what is going on with my wife, at least for a little while. I believe it has helped me to keep my sanity. This hobby and the people I have met over the years have been really good for me. Brooks Glover (2141)

Patrick, thank you so much! Wow!! This is really a big help. There are still a lot of gray areas but if I ever get to attend a judging meet, they may be cut back considerably. Brooks Glover (2141)- Top

Re: Judging Sheets for '56 & '57
Brooks;
What you need is a "practice judging session" in your own garage. That will help point out issues.
Just so happens I know a person that lives near you that has judged every aspect of 56-57 cars (except Performance Verification) many times.- Top

Re: Judging Sheets for '56 & '57
Ed, I am going to take you up on that offer. My car is still at the shop where it was painted but there is light at the end of the tunnel as to when it will be back in my garage. I would love for you to come by and give me a critique just like the judges would. I also realize that this will probably have to wait till after your heart surgery. Any idea as to where and when this will take place? Whenever it is, I am looking forward to it. There are a few "gray" areas that are still as such after looking at both the Judging Manual and the Judging Sheets that a judge himself could probably clarify. There are some areas of the restoration of my '56 where I have had to compromise and I will just have to live with that. I have owned this car for over 44 years and my goal all along has been preservation and enjoyment. The hobby itself and the people I have met along the way have been great.

Re: Judging Sheets for '56 & '57
A "must-have" in addition to the the Judging Guide is the "Corvette Judging Reference Manual"; it explains all about the judging process, what to expect, how a judging meet is run, etc. It's available from the NCRS Store (in the blue bar at the top of the page).- Top
