One of my Fathers Day gifts is a new Kindle. One thought that came to mind is how convenient it would be to have the judging guides on it. As a test I uploaded a PDF from my computer to the Kindle, worked perfect. I'm guessing to load the JM's now it would take a lot of copying and scanning?

Re: Making the JM's available electronically?
If they're currently on Word or similar it's easy to make a pdf out of them. I may even have one.
I envision a day when the comupter is used as a tool to evaluate cars and also contain the JG. However, given current speed of technology acceptance in the club it may be after I'm dead.Vice-Chairman (West), Michigan Chapter NCRS

Re: Making the JM's available electronically?
Kevin,
There's lots of considerations and questions to doing electronic JM's. Copyright protection being the big one. Technology platform, download management and costs to be another. Not a simple undertaking by any means.
Apple iTune store and Kindle royalty fees are 30% of sale price.

Re: Making the JM's available electronically?
I know of one car club that had their judging manual(s) hacked and put on line by one of their members. That action nearly stopped the sales of their manuals, and put a severe dent in their funds. The ensuing legal action left no one happy. If you want more details I can put you in touch with one of the principals of that club. He is an NCRS member.Terry- Top
