Joe Lucia: Help on AIR Pump

I have an A.I.R. Injection Pump that came with other parts when I acquired a 69 Corvette. On the back plate of the pump is number 7801149 and a date of 208. It also has the number 31 on it. Can you help me identify what this pump is for? Thanks! Mark

    Mark,
There is an assembly date stamp on one of the aluminum ribs of the center case of the pump. If it is 1969 and later pump the assembly stamp will be in a semi-circular machined cut-out and if it is 1968 and earlier it will be alongside that same machined cut-out. That assembly stamp is what the judges look for.

From what you describe, it could very well be a 1969-75 style pump. A photo of it would help me confirm this. All 1969-75 Corvette AIR pumps had identical external configuration (except 1969 L-88/ZL-1).

Joe: I believe that it is a 69 to 75 style, since it is vey similar to the one in my 69. I will have to learn how to post a picture. Thanks! Mark
