    1966 Teakwood Steering Wheel

I have a good friend who owns a big block 1966 Corvette and is trying to locate/buy an OEM (66 Factory Option-N32) Teakwood Steering Wheel in nearly excellent condition. Does anyone have any information where he could obtain one without surrendering his original wood (plastic) steering wheel?

I think I saw one of these listed on ebay a couple of weeks ago for $3, 000.00. You may want to look.

Thanks Bob, I'll tell him to search ebay. I had no idea an OEM N32 would sell for that much ($3,000.00). I better keep my original Teakwood Wheel in a vault for that price!!

When were the first good reproductions of the 65-66 teak steering wheels made? By good, I mean not able to tell an original from a reproduction. Just curious, If mine is an original. My 66 had a teak wheel when I bought it in the late 80's. Thanks , Glen.

I agree with Dick in that Erics wheels are first rate. However a person who is really knowledgable with these can tell the difference.

As I posted before, my friend has several original teak wheels. He will be at Bloomington next week so if you or your friend are planning on going, you can see it before you buy it.

now that we are on the subject, just how can you tell an original
                            from a repo?
