    Dangling wire help

Alright, I have discovered a loose wire and I am hoping someone can tell what is and where it should be attached.

I was looking under the dash and noticed that there is a capacitor attached to the cluster. It looks to be between the oil pressure gauge and the temp gauge. The wire is from the capacitor and is a baby blue or gray color with a black plastic end cap of some sort. Where should that end cap be attached?

    Thanks in advance
    Rob

Rob..There should be a female plug it plugs into with a brown lead from the wiring harness. According to the wiring diagram for a 67 it's a capacitor for the radio...Bill

      Bill,

Thanks for the reply. I'll look for the brown wire.

As I recall, the plastic cap encloses a female faston which would/could mate to a male faston attached to one of the gauge cluster enclosure mounts. That's from an old memory as I hate to get under there any more.

          Rob -

It's shown in your '66 Assembly Manual in section U69, sheet A5, item #5 at the lower left of the illustration. The capacitor wire has a 2-cavity female connector so it can accept another male connector if you have power windows.
