    1963 Radio Instructions

I've read through the very interesting posts on this subject from a couple years ago, but still have a question.

I 've had a 7285127 Operating Instructions leaflet for many years and always thought it was original. I ran across it recently when going through a bunch of old literature, but in view of the prior posts, now I'm unsure. The card I have is on the pale yellow heavier stock like the later 7291985. (So are the Long Island #02-09b and Corvette Central 262022 repros for 7285127.) But at least one of the original samples posted is on glossy white paper.

So.....is mine real, or were all the 7285127 originals on white paper?

    Thank you!

    Calvin,
If you have an AM/FM radio your Radio Sheet should be a shiney white fold open booklet with part number 7286857 on the 3rd page. The 4th page will be blank. The AM radio sbeet is part # 7282755. That would be ****e as well.

      Thanks, Dave.

I don't have the car, just the 7285127 Operating Instructions. Do you (or other mid-year experts) have any insights on the paper this was printed on?

Mine, which I believe is original, is like the repros - a heavier pale yellow paper, but one posted here a while back is on white paper. Maybe the white paper was used initially, then replaced with the heavier stock (as used in later mid-years) but retained the same 7285127 P/N?

      Thanks again,

      Cal

Mine is an original from my July built 63 (orinal owner) and it is on light weight white paper. It is flimsy and hard to keep flat (bending over corners) unless you make an effort. If you left it loosly in the glove box as I did, it got a little beatup.

          Cal,
I've seen lots of original radio sheets and have never seen an original yellow sheet. Paper on all of them is as Stu describes and they all have a shiney surface.

Ok, thank you Dave and Stu for responding.

I'll put it back in the drawer, to be "discovered" yet again in another 20 years...

              Calvin,

I have two of the three different radio instruction folders used for 63 and both are thin white paper. (1st and 3rd part numbers)

              7282755, AM radio

              7285127 AM/FM first edition

              7286857 AM/FM Second edition

                Michael,
I believe your part numbers are correct. I have never seen a #127 sheet but it listed as a proper part number for early 62 radios. The 63 AIM says the radio sheet changed (from 127) to #857 on 4-12-63. As I mentioned in an earlier post all the radio sheets I have seen are white.
