    gauge face cleaning?

I've got my gauge cluster out and I want to cleran the dust from the body shop from the faces of the gauges. What is the safest way of doing this without damaging the lettering? Thanks!!

    Tom,

I have the same dust, from the same place, on the inside of my tach and speedo. If you find a method without a major removal let me know.

I hope to see you two soon.

    Ken

Hi Ken, I have the center gauge cluster out to put in an original radio. While in there I found that oil was beginning to leak from the oil pressure line onto the old radio, guess that's why that quit. Fortunately the leak didn't make a big mess, dodged a bullet there. As a result I have it all apart to clean the oil off the inner part of the cluster and want to get the dust off of those gauge faces, probably will deal with the tach and spedometer at a later date.

        Hi Lynn,
I used little bit of lung power, (be careful that there's no spit included), and a very soft artist's brush. My wife saw what I was doing and suggested a new 'make-up' brush might work too beause they're VERY soft.
I had to do it a couple of times because I'd find a little piece of fuzz after putting the gauges and lens back together. It seems rubbing on the lens at all makes it 'staticy' which attracts every piece of fuzz in the area.
I really didn't touch the gauge face with anything but the brush.
        Regards,
        Alan
