Reproduction '67 interior door lock knob question

I recently purchased a reproduction '67 door lock knob from Corvette America that's a bit different from the originals, and not in good ways. The lugs that mesh with the shaft are shallow, and don't extend 360 degrees around the shaft opening (more like 3/4s of the circumference). Also, the retaining spring doesn't engage the shaft as completely as the original.

My question is, are there different manufacturers of this part out there? I'd rather not buy the same part from several vendors just to verify whether or not they're quality reproductions. I'd also be interested in buying a pair of originals in good condition, if the price is right.

    thanks,
    Bob

    Bob,

I suspect there is only one manufacturer for what must be a relatively low volume part. Either NOS or good used original would be my choice, but I am strongly biased toward original and/or NOS parts, if the NOS service replacement parts are confirmed to be the same as the original.

You might check the Driveline or start a "Wanted to Buy" thread over on the CF. It doesn't seem like good original or even NOS door lock knobs should be too hard to find.
