Thanks all for your responses. I just purchased an NOS Firestone tire (it hasn't arrived yet) and it has the paper label as you would find at a tire store or at the dealer. I am using it for my spare for Novi judging and I will carefully remove it and save it.

If the car is still in Belgium (will ask Tom F if he has more info) I would be happy to trace the owner and ask one of my fellow Dutch Chapter officers, who lives in Belgium, to take pictures (and to ask the owner to join our Chapter )

Not to worry- both the air in the tire and the glue is factory correct; direct from St. Louis!

I agree; paper labels were used on SERVICE tires, not factory tires.

I agree, my spare was never on the road and it has no sticker on it. It still has all the color dots and blue hue on the white stripe. It lost a couple of points because the slight surface rust on the wheel.

I expect that this was from a SERVICE tire, though. These tires were once available from Goodyear Tire dealers.

You are right. I should have clarified that. As discussed in earlier posts this label was not on original St. Louis tires but only on service tires. There were small white paper labels on the inside sidewall of St. Louis tires though.
