    DeWitt's Radiator

We've all heard horror stories of vendors not standing behind their products. Well DeWitt's is not one of them. I had a five year old aluminum radiator ( way out of warranty ) that I bought from them at Carlisle that had a very very small leak. After talking to several rad shops in my area I was not comfortable with them working on my not so cheap radiator. So after talking to John at DeWitts a little road trip was planned to Howell Michigan to visit DeWitts and let them fix it. I could have also shipped it to them but I had a few other things to do in Michigan and I always like touring shops. John and his staff were very friendly and helpful. In my opinion John went out of his way to take care of and fix my problem with as little cost to me as possible. He and his partner took time out of their busy day to show me their shop and take care of my problem and offer suggestions on another problem that I was worried about. My hats off to them for making my trip very rewarding. It's nice to know that some people still believe in customer service.
    Just my old two cents

Terry - Good to hear about your positive experience....gives me post purchase satisfaction on my 2 recent DeWitts radiator purchases.

Just the opposite of the "What do you want me to do about it?" (an EXACT quote!!!) that I got recently from one of the popular suppliers when I informed them of a defect in the Restoration Oil Canister assy that caused almost a quart if oil to leak on the floor after the initial startup on my '66. It was "beyond their warranty"....never mind the fact the flaw was clearly in the part as originally manufactured! Oh well, another horror story...

I can also extol the virtues of Dewitt's - back in the days before they had finished their 60/1 top tank, they were willing to graft an original top tank (modified by another craftsman, Syl Modesto, to a top without the ribs and the sight glass) to their then current offering. It fit and worked the way it was supposed to.

        Good to hear. Great story.

Another happy Dewitts customer here. 67 L79.

Ran the car for 80 miles in a blend of city & highway driving. The temp stayed LOCKED at around 100 degrees above ambient. Very happy.
