    I have seen many show and judging cars with the driver's side above the passenger's side, the latest was a silver blue 63 SWC at the last winter meet that got a Top Flight that way. I mentioned it to the owner in passing and he told me to "SHHhhh!". Apparently I wasn't the first to notice, but the judges did not. To me it stands out like a sore thumb and is visable from a long distance away.

    Yes, I remember seeing a LOT of 63-67's with the wipers on bass ackwards over the years. Not as many in the last decade though.

    I always wondered if the actual travel of the pass side was somehow mechanically less/shorter than the drivers side?
    If one of the arms inside the car were just a tad longer, it would reduce the travel of that arm/blade which would compensate for the unequal rest position but still have the same full extended position.

    By the way, I have some info for you on the fuel problem that you were having last year. New thread though.

      Amazing info. Rushed right down in the middle of the night to turn the screws on my wiper arms.

      Thank you!

        "My wiper arms look like that, i.e. they have a screw there, but I would never guess it to be for adjustment. But, as you say, you have to pull the arm off first to adjust"

        Actually, you can simply lift & hold the installed arm. Then run the adjusting screw from lock to lock to compute the middle of its range for your initial setting...

        Actually, I don't think I'd like a "cant" in it as it would look bent to me.

        Oh, Jez-Louise... We're talking VERY MINOR skew here, Stuart! Think of it being the equivalent of being able to install the wiper arm onto the drive hub at any position BETWEEN the pre-defined drive shaft flutes.

          Jack;

          I'm just pulling leg here. Some day I may try it just to see if they will still work on my original wiper arms. After all, those screws have not been touched in nearly 48 years. Fact is, the wipers have only been operated about once in the last 20 years - period!

          So you know "Jez Louise" too. You must be from the upper midwest as that's my brother's favorite "Christian like" exclamation in Wisconsin, only he says it more like: JEEEeees Louiseee!

            Try watching Route 66 when Todd is tooling around in the 63 vert. One scene the car has a rear view mirror inside and the drivers wiper arm under the pass arm as expected. Next time driving, they're reversed and the mirror is missing when doing the 'front' shots.

              Re: '63 -'67 Corvette windshield wiper adjustment

              Jack - FYI, the adjusting screw and the single rivet attaching the rod on the body (center section) of the original 63-67 Corvette windshield wiper arm assemblies are not unique to these Corvettes, although America's Finest thinks and says so in the Driveline ad. You will also find this configuration with the adjusting screw and single rivet on early 60's Chevrolets with 2-speed wipers; but the rods and base pieces differ in configuration on the Chevrolet wiper arms and the Corvette wiper arms, so the part numbers for the Corvette wiper arm assemblies are specific/unique to the Corvette application.

                Ruud,

                You may or may not have the diagram out of the assembly manual that I've attached that shows the layout of the windshield wipers on the glass. This should give you a good starting point as to how each wiper should be positioned on the windshield when parked and when fully deployed at each side of the windshield.

                Regards,
