    1960 pass side kick panel

I'm putting things back together and I'm having some difficulty understanding how the "extension panel" (AIM term, Sect B, page 4 and 12) ties into the kick panel. The AIM shows two spring clips mounted to the kick panel for the two screws that go through the extension panel go into. On my kick panel there is no provision to put these spring clips so the screws go through the extension panel, into the kick panel and into nothing. These clips are shown on sheet 4, section B of the AIM.

I took this apart a few months back and bagged the hardware. I have two screws left over that go into this location so I know they were installed, but for the life of me I can't figure out how.

    Ideas?

i will take a look at my 1960 when I return from running a few errands. However, I probably will not be able to see the spring clips s/o removing the kick panel.

On my 62 I had to reach up and down to the backside of the kick-panel to hold spring clip while I put a screw in from the front side. There was nothing to hold the clip there.

In hind-site I should have taped the spring clip in place before installing the kick-panel since I had to bend my arm in a weird shape to get it there.

      Hope this helps,

      Tony

You just jogged my memory. I remember having to get my arm back there to hold the clip while I turned the screw when I took the panel off.

        Back to the garage!

        Thanks,
