    My new 70 Coupe

Let me start by thanking everyone for all the help with my previously posted questions. It is much appreciated. (I know I'll have more.)

    Here's my new 70 Coupe, L46, 4 spd, 3.70:1, Custom Interior, #9516, body tag May 18th.
I hope to get it judged next year. That will give me a winter for all the odds & ends.

    Thanks again,
    Mike

Master cylinder cover is a replacement style. From what I can see of it, the alternator looks to be original. At least, the split ring case end is the original configuration and pretty much unique to 1970.

Radiator cap looks like a replacement.

It's a lot easier to obtain a correct master cylinder cover than it is to obtain a correct alternator for a 1970.

Mike, welcome to the '70 club. '70s are special as they are the last of the high compression and there was very low production. Not many of us out there compared to '69s and '71s. L46 is a nice mill.

            Hi Mike,
            Very nice looking car!
As people have indicated.... a 70 is good year to have.
            Are you enjoying it?
            Regards,

Very nice! I love the Classic White body color with white line tires.

Tell us the story(s) about the car. How'd you find it? Is it original or restored, etc.

I joined NCRS April 30th, emailed the NCRS Team Leaders for 68-69 and 70-72, told them I was looking for a 69-71 and lived in Pittsburgh, PA..

Don Geary of the Pittsburgh NCRS Chapter contacted me, said a member might be selling his car, I called him, looked at the car May 7th, bought it May 14th. It couldn't have gome any smoother, I guess the stars aligned that day.

The last onwer had it 26 years, engine, trans, rear end, suspension, steering all rebuilt to stock. The car came with 13 boxes of used original parts, NOS parts, replacement parts, manuals, magazines, original spare tire (Goodyear Wide Tread), etc..

The interior and most of the paint is orginal. I'm guessing for less than $1k I can get all the parts I need to make Top Flight. (Hope so anyways)

                Thats it in a nutshell.

                Mike

Welcome. Love the color combo. Matches my 70 L46 Classic White Vert. perfectly.

                  Sounds like a real keeper.

Mike..sounds like you have a great car..hope to see it someday..maybe a trip to Carlisle this summer could happen..one heck of a Corvette get together in August. Might be able to find the few things you need to complete the resto.
