......on Sunday June 12, which happens to be my birthday, which exactly 25 years ago on that date, I bought(correction....my wife bought me), my 1959 Corvette.

For years she always would ask me what I wanted for my birthday. I always said a '59 Corvette. After about 10 years I was sick and tired of getting Matchbox Corvettes for my birthday, so I got smarter.

I conned her into it. I was driving by Corvette City in Manchester, NH and spotted it. I just had to have it! Of course I paid way too much for it. We had to get a 2nd mortgage on the house. My 59 Corvette

p.s. Mass is about 1500 miles from home so I can't make it to Larz, but it sounds like a great event.

This event is the 9th Annual Corvette Day sponsored by the New England Chapter and benifits the Scolerderma Foundation.

On a sunny day we can have over 100 Corvettes on the lawn. No prizes, no awards, just great people and some of the nicest Corvettes from around New England.

Looks like a great time....wish I could make it.

Nice photos of the past events there on the NE website. Wait a minute......did Dave Strickland trade in one of his vettes for that '32 lil' deuce coupe?

That's a great place. I went to Swedish Car Day there last year. If it's sunny, bring your own shade. Long day from LI via the ferry and back, but worth it. The really old cars on the lower level that belonged to Lars Anderson are pretty interesting. There is one that looks like a cross between a WWI tank and a stagecoach, complete with a potty seat in the back. Watch those bumps

I had Dickie's permission before I drove a Ford to a Corvette Day. Vettes are fun make original and to judge but Hot Rods are much more fun to drive. It does have Chevy power though. Next to me there was a vintage Cadillac. That is always a great event and for a great cause.
