57 tail shaft housing--cast rather than stamped?
Disregard until I get the pics resized and able to load. On closer attention---these numbers likely should be cast? If so, why would someone who had nothing to do with putting together a 57 restoration do this? It's connected to a 63 b/w aluminum case tranny, and has been on shelves for a long, long, time.
