    1966 Door Handle Restoration

Anyone have good sources for door handle restoration for my original 66 handles for judging?

    Thanks

    Barry,

I too am looking to restore my original door handles.

Does anyone know if Richard Fortier does this sort of thing - i.e., re-plating them. The rest of the internals are easy to fix/replace.

Just remember to tell plating not to grind the mold edges off!

Try Advanced Plating in Nashville TN. They do very good pot metal work

          Paul's Chrome in PA.
When doing door handles the "concave" surface under the handle must be maintained. Many platers use too much copper and this surface comes out flat. Many new door handles also suffer from this.

M&P Refinishing in Jennette, PA (724-527-6360) refinished my 1965 door handles and maintained the original features. They do great work and are little cheeper than Paul's or Advance. Just tell them what features you want them to maintain.
