1960 Brake Pedal Play and Shoe Drag.

The brakes feel correct now, but anyone know how much pedal play is acceptable? And how much shoe drag when adjusting? I used to do this by sound, but my hearing is terrible from flying choppers for 26 years in the USMC.

Hi Phil,

I bought all of the 60 pubs from NCRS, and none of them discuss the procedures. Am I missing a pub perhaps? I would rather have the info at hand, but the service pubs are very inadequate.

See page 5-3 in the ST-12 Manual (1953-62 Corvette Servicing Guide), under "Brake Pedal Free Movement"; "free movement should be not less than 1/4-inch."
