57 4-speed tailshaft housing info needed

On a BW I have with a 63-dated case, I discovered I have a T-10 7A tailshaft housing dated 4 05 57 Seems like that should be for a 57 model year, yet Colvin's book indicates that 7A was 58. Any ideas on the 7 vs. 7A? Also, any educated guesses as to value?

Mike, looking in my T10 folder (admittedly not kept up-to-date), the first
T-10-7A that shows up is cast 11-6-57 (attached to a cast iron T-10-7 main case!), assembled late Nov '57(# is obscured) and in an early March '58 car.
I'm also aware of a 1XXX '58 with an April 57 main and a T10-7 tailshaft, assembled June '57 (owner has had the car since 1961); I warned him to be sure the trans is the same one if it ever has to come out.
Clearly NOTHING applies the "First In, First Out" rule.

Anyone? It has the vertical half-moon cutouts per the JG--did that continue into 58 model year?

Mike, post a photo of the T7A side of the extension showing the date, etc.

I'd be curious to know if anyone has ever come up with a decoding of "SPAC" on these tailshafts.....my best try would be "Special Performance
Aluminum Case".......
