David, thanks for the offer to look for the carburetor you may have. Based on what I have found, and what Joe has offered, if you do find yours and want to sell it, it should bring more than $40, as it sounds like just what the rebuilders are looking for. I did buy yesterday from Chicago Corvette, the seller who had one on eBay. After talking to them I confirmed what I had been told, that they build/rebuild/"restore" these from parts from similar units and +/-$600 is the going rate. Apparently they have sold "thousands" of carburetors similar to this although they did also tell me that they can sometimes provide something with all the numbers correct, tag etc but that would cost more (didn't ask how much). They also told me (when I asked) that the pictures on ebay might be representative of how it will look and not necessarily of the actual unit I am buying, a concern to me when that is not noted in an ad (maybe there, didn't see it), but a minor one as the company is legit and they warranty the carburetor for 1 yr.
