Gary, I live in North Alabama and we had tornadoes to come through on April 27th. An F-5 came within a 1/2 mile of our home. The death and destruction are really depressing. To date 238 folks were killed in Alabama from the tornadoes. One family lost 5 out of 7 members. A number of folks lost everything they had. My wife and I were quite fortunate as we only lost a couple of large trees and had a couple of shutters to blow off the house. We were out of power for 6 days and had no telephone either land line or cell for several days. My thoughts and prayers go out to the folks in Missouri who have suffered this recent tragedy. Looking real bad for Joplin. 89 dead so far. I can imagine there won't be lots more. A Wal Mart totaled, Home Deport, plus the hospital.

Brooks, I had some of my utility crews from the Chicago area in Alabama making repairs for y'all. They were down with you for a week. They were working in small towns around Birmingham.

Terry, I know that I can speak for all of us in the tornado affected areas that we appreciated the utility crews and all who came to help. I was very fortunate as some folks down here were living in tents and under tarps without power for several days. I thank you and your crew for your time and help. Brooks Glover (2141)

My guys are happy to go help where and when we can. We get help from other utilities when we need it also. We are so sad for those who have suffered the ravages of nature.
