Thanks for posting.... a picture of an original is very helpful.. Can you tell me about the back of the water pump? Is the back cover completely flat with no indentations/bends and are the back cover bolts pan head?

Don't mean to drag this thread out but getting information on an original is very valuable!

Joel,

The back of my water pump is flat with pan head bolts and not a lot of orange paint. Bill Mock in Oklahoma can help you with the correct pump if you do not have one.

Thick flat back cover with panhead screws and star washers. This '284' numbered pump is cast E_5_5 but not original to my car. Note nipple has no bead. This one has obviously been sprayed sometime since factory installation.
