Rear End Noise On 65
I have a stock matching numbers 65 coupe, 327, 300hp, auto trans. I drive the car once a week. When I was in it this a.m. I noticed a squeeking noise from the right rear in the tire area. As I pulled down my street it made a scuffing noise but only for a second. The tire and u-joints appear to be ok. When I get time I will pull the tire off and see what I can see. It has knock off wheels. Do any of you guys have any ideas on what I need to do to chase the problem? thanks fred

Best guess..........u-joint. As u-joints age and are not greased obviously will use up internal bearing grease. Would appear yours has met it's fate. Now the challenge will be to determine which one. Assuming noise is coming from rear (and not the drive shaft) might be advisable to change all four on the half shafts.Comment
