Why no precise '56 or '57 models?

Its driving my nuts that I can't seem to find any models, in any scale, that are really correct. I've been looking off and on for months. There is also something wrong. Even the big expensive ones for like $2K have the wrong carpet and seat covers, and I don't mean design/texture, even the color was the totally the wrong color! WTH lol.

Not really a tech post but I'm hoping someone can point me to a really correct model. To be specific, I'm not too concerned with it being detailed, I just want what is there to be correct.

Yes they just don't get it right.......just like many reproduction parts.

A while ago I bought a Franklin Mint 1967 L89 Elkhart Blue 2-top Convertible. I opened the hood. It had chrome valve covers as it should, but the heads were painted orange. They should be bare aluminum. That's the most important telltale engine item about a L89......and they got it wrong!

Don't worry...the same is true of whole/complete cars!!!

          Jack you are so right....

Here are a few shots I forgot I had of the "incorrect" L89 engine bay. It's amazing that they got so much detail correct as you can see, like GM part# on radiator hose, correct this & that, but they have the aluminum heads painted orange!

When a manufacturer decides to make a specific model, they look for a real car to take the measurments, colors, etc. from. If the car they choose is wrong, the model will be wrong. The people they send to measure out the car, and write everything down most times do not know right from wrong, and essentially not " car guys " As in the case of the L89. The real car they used had those heads painted, so the model has them painted. This subject has been brought up on many die-cast forums. The situation is getting better, but it is still a thorn in the side for collectors of scale cars.

Never knew that since I don't ever visit those forums. Thanks for the insight!
