Wildwood Regional, good time for ALL

The weather in NJ was sunny and in the 70's. The staff at the show were pleasant, knowledgeable, and professional. The accommodations at the Colosseum were roomy and the cars were neatly staged inside.

The day stared for me by not being able to find the keys to the doors to the car and on the three hour trip down my wiper door popped open for no reason and would not close. All those hours to get it to work perfectly down the drain, these old cars.... This is my first experience with fight judging and the staff made it painless. Today they ran through mechanical testing and, oh well, deducts on the the wiper door and the keys. Once inside we cleaned our cars and commiserated/admired all the beautifully cars on the floor. There was seminars and later there was a reception with food and drinks. I was wondering why the line to the bar was longer than the food line??

I am looking forward to tomorrow. I know there are things wrong with my car but at least I will have an expensive punch list to work for the next time.

My congratulations to the Central Jersey Chapter for the great organization of the event.. Stay tuned...

If you have any spare time, drop by and look up the NCRS UK Judging Chairman, Tom Falconer. He brought his 1988 experimental Corvette all the way from London, England for a run at the American Heritage Award this summer.

Tom's a GREAT guy and the author of a number of Corvette books. This is the first time he's entered a car in a judging meet in North America. So, drop by, say 'Hi' and welcome Tom to the colonies!!!

Tom was nice enough to host the Advanced Judging Seminar around his 1986/1988 XPxxxx Corvette Today, Friday. A very interesting car. It will also be at Novi. If Tom is willing, we will use it again tomorrow.

Thanks for the tip Jack. We are on it.

Jack I will look for Tom tomorrow. He sounds like a interesting guy.

Well... my car was judged today and everything that was pointed out for my punch list was not to bad. There was one item that blew me out of the water and I should have paid more attention. My door sills and areas under the bumpers were to shiny. That gave a full deduction on paint. If I only had paid more attention and knew that would get such a large deduction. Others on the floor got the same also. What I would have given for a scotch bright......

The convention center is on the water and the cars on the water side look cool with the water behind them. My old blue 92 that my brother in law has now is being judged tomorrow. stay tuned. When I get home tomorrow I will post some pictures.
