    Windshield washer monitor system

Can someone please explain the windshield washer monitor system in the C3?

Which cars had it as an option, what was the option code, where was the indicator, etc.?

    TIA,
    Mike

I think you're going to stump the panel with this one Mike. Never heard of such a thing.

I think that they're adding an option where one did not exist.
At least for 70-72 no such option existed from the factory.

No guarantee on what may have been available from the dealer, or when this might have show up in production.

It is an option listed in my 1970 AIM manual, looks like a simple float device indicating low washer fluid....never seen one outside of the AIM.

Wow! And so it is...Option CD2! Nice save, Dino.

I've seen AIM references to side pipes, tricarb setup, and LS7 engine in the AIM, but I don't ever remember seeing that page. Like those other options that never happened, Antonick's black book makes no mention of CD2 having any produced. But...there must have been at least ONE customer out there demanding to buy a repro harness.

Edit: Oops...read a little further. Just like those other options that never happened, CD2 is also marked "CANCELED". Looks like some vendors are going to have some harness stock that's never going to get sold.

Does the AIM give any clue as to what this device would be hooked up to? Was their an indicator on the centre console maybe?

OK, I learned something today. I was sent a photo of a real live original example of the wiring and the option parts and it appears that at least some of them were made as service parts.

Yes, a light with a fiber optic (naturally) indicator.
