    1960 Main Door Weatherstrip

Apparently when I replaced the main door weatherstrips back in the 1990s, the repros did not have the plastic pins imbedded into the rubber. On closer examination, all of the holes on the bottom of my doors (8 on each side) still have the hollow black plastic plugs. I assume the pins insert into the plugs after applying weatherstrip adhesive. I don't want to remove the weatherstripping at this time to check for plugs. Are the plastic plugs only on the bottom of the doors? Or do they plugs continue up the front and back of the doors? I studied the AIM, but it only shows 1 plug on the bottom of the door. The vendors sell them in packages of 54. 27 per door?

There are a couple of small holes on the flat part of the door closest to the door post with nothing in them. Is there some type of pin or wire insert that goes in those holes? Or was that left over from older models?
