    Finish on wiper door lmit switch hardware

    mine are grubby and impossible to tell.
    wiper door switch bracket
    wiper door actuating bolt extension
    actuating bolt and nuts

    Steve, the limit switch bracket is semi gloss black, the two small bolts that retain switch to bracket are zinc. the actuator extension is natural, the adjuster bolts are cad. the nuts that attach actuator where zinc.

        Pat. The two indented hex washer head screws on the top of the bracket should be silver colored. Yours may be, but in the picture they look black.

          Interesting. After I cleaned them and looked closely they appear to have been silver but have tarnished with age to the point of almost looking like black phosphate. I don't think my previous owners would've bothered plating these with anything, and they are not painted.

            I have a two piece distributor box, unlike your spot welded one-piece, on my 1970. It has two Phillips head sheet metal screws on the side that is visible to the right in your photo. For the longest time I thought they were black phosphate (or oxide) screws, but after a discussion on this board I had to take one of the screws out to look at the sheltered threads to find the true silver finish. I guess it is just the way that finish ages.
