Compare the thumbnail (below the big pic of my CJ, dated, dated 10-6-68), from one that's currently offered on eBay (link), with '67 date on the flange.

Big differences in font and character alignment, probably due to the application process. Also, bi-metallic mounting plate is different.

What do judges expect -- I'm sure that this can be seen with a mirror.

Bids are moving into "stupid money" range, and I wouldn't want anyone here to regret their win.

Wayne you have a very good question! It will finish much higher when you consider its not a rebuilt and reglued part. But really a 68 part with the visible date code.

Unless you are trying to copy my misuse of the word "stupid" you better watch out! Captain Mark of the grammar and socio/economic attitude police should be admonishing you shortly. See post #20 in this thread, after I made the mistake of attaching the "stupid" adjective to a $416 air filter. Then again, I am not you.
