1962 4 speed trans tag

I am looking for a CC or BB trans tag for a 62. Did someone repro these years ago? I have been trying to find an original for some time now.

These tags were repo'd back in the early 90's but I don't remember who. I did a lot of business with Long Island Corvette back then when I had a 1966.

K or JJ = 2.54 1st. Wide ratio
J,L,M,BB,CC or DD = 2.20 1st. Close ratio

I have a JJ tag on my early '62. When was the K used? Is there a difference in the wide ratios or close ratios that made the tag change it's lettering? Now for my dumb question, How can you tell if your trans. is a wide ratio or a close ratio without taking it apart? My rear end gear is 3:36.

If your rear end is original, the chances are extremely high that you have a wide ratio. Trying to start from the stop light with a 3:36 and a close ratio means clutch slippage and short clutch life.
