    1964 heater blower motor

Hi, does anyone have a picture of an original 64 non AC heater blower motor? Thanks!

Actually need picture of motor and backing plate together. Checked archives but nothing yet. Thanks,

Don't have pix, but the plate is 'almost' identical to '65 and later with the exception that date code stamping wasn't active then...

Dan -- don't have '64, but here's samples from 1965. The stamped numbers are 5044555 for the non-air blower, '559' for the C60 version, and '557' for the rear compartment exhaust motor ['64 & 5 coupes only, without 36 gal].

First big pic is of my late '65 regular blower (note no last 2 digits of the part # and no month stamped (not TFP) -- believe the backing plate was common and they pre-stamped the majority of the characters; final blower assemblers stamped the rest, according to application (IMO).

2nd big pic is from the car with VIN previous to mine; shows general layout -- didn't check for numbers .

Thumbnail at bottom is another '65 showing last 2 digits '55' stamped separately, and the month '3' added (separately).

'65 TIM&JG doesn't mention these stampings, as they are quite difficult to see, when motor installed.

Thanks Wayne and Jack. Jack, did you infer that 64 didn't have date stamps yet? Thanks!!!

While we're waiting for Jack, here's a bit more. Big pic is of the original C60 blower motor off my late Sept '64/early Nov'64 C60 1965 Corvette (span due to strike). Yellow smeared ink stamp of '8 - 64'.

The die stampings are like the thumbnail below (same 559 part, used on many GM air cars); this one I bought off eBay as a spare. If there was an ink stamp it's gone under a fresh coat of paint by previous owner.

So I suspect that (even the standard blower) '64s had no die-stamped dates, but no proof unless others can help. I copied a '65 rear blower (a 557) eBay pic and made a note that it was (die-)stamped 11-64, so maybe the changeover in stamping or stamping style was in that time period.

              Hi Dan,
Are you good with the photos you received? If not I can take some of my original heater (Dec 1963) which is still out of the car while restoration continues.

              Doug

Doug, yes, like to see if 64 has any differences from from 65 etc. Always good to have pictures of real ones! Thanks,
                Dan

Dan, I have a blower motor from a 64 in my 65 right now (runs quiet) and 65 blower sitting on bench (sometimes runs loud). They are identical except for the Nov 64 date code on the 65 blower motor. The 64 blower motor does not have any date at all.
