I have an annoying squeak that only happens when I turn to the left and not all the time. Seems to be right up near the wheel where the moving part meets the stationary part of the column. Was thinking of squirting some WD-40 in there but thought I better ask first. '64 Roadster, regular steering (non-power). Thanks, Rich

Re: Squeaky Steering Wheel
I may not get all the detail exactly right here as I am trying to recall from memory the instructions I was given to fix this problem in the past. What is amounted to was loosening the steering shaft at the rag joint and (I think) loosening the screw or two screws on the upper steering column cone and then pushing the steering shaft upward into the car a bit to increase the gap between the cone and the steering hub. Like I say I may not have all this exactly correct but it did fix the 65 that I was working on.- Top

Re: Squeaky Steering Wheel
Thanks, I'll take a look at the bearing & that gap. It did seem a little close.
