This is not so much a Corvette question. I have been restoring an old impala. The AC does not work. I talked to the guy that last tried to get it going. He changed the compressor and oil and added R134 conversion. It worked for a day, the compressor started making noises and acts like the system is plugged up. He feared that the system was full of metal particles due to an earlier compressor failure. My question is, when you open the system to replace componets and need to flush out the line, evaporator, condensor and then recharge, what do you flush with? I was thinking of using alcohol but I would like a more professional opinion. The system reportedly has R134 in it. While other things could be wrong, I think flushing is a good idea.
