I am looking for anyone that has the following Chevrolet Parts and Accessories Catalogs. I need some key information from each of these dated catalogs for a Corvette Restorer article I am putting together. 1964 Chevrolet Parts and Accessories Catalog
(Revised Date July 1, 1964)

1965 Chevrolet Parts and Accessories Catalog
(Effective Date October 1, 1964 )

These two dates above, Revised and Effective, should be the correct dates if these catalogs follow the pattern of the other catalogs through this time frame.

Joe Lucia and David Liukkonen have a few P & A catalogs for sure. Whether or not they have the particular ones you mention, I don't know.

Sorry, my '64 P&A Catalog is effective 10/1/63. Seems a 64 P&A catalog with that late of an effective date might not be that common of an item to find...

John -- I have a total of 11 catalogs in the period Oct '62 thru Jan '70. Two are P&A30B (Corvette only); the rest P&A30. Ever considered that your Rev. July 1, 1964 might not exist ? I believe I've seen (on eBay) the 1965 [1st issue Oct '64] but then even the revised issues have the cover date of the 1st issue, and only when you check the inside page, or spot-check the lower RH corner for the revision date on the 2nd or 3rd issue catalogs do you find later dates.

Example: I have a 2-volume set (Chassis and Body) for the 1965 P&A30 that is revised July 1, 1965 on the Chassis book, (which is the date found on most of the pages); but there's also Rev. Jan 1, March 1, May 1, on a small number of pages. However the Body volume remains original Oct '64 issue throughout.

Will your article discuss both the single volume (both chassis and body) as well as the dual books ? My single large volumes are Rev July 1, 1969 and 1st issue 1966 (Oct '65). Does your investigation show that these were also issued as 2-volume sets ?

Although the front catalog cover will state an effective date as to when the catalog was first printed for the year, thereafter, revision pages were printed which then replaced the original pages. The page following the front cover will state -- Revision Number X. The revision date is also printed on the lower right corner of the revised page. Chevrolet sent these revisions to dealer parts operations to be inserted into the main catalog. The frequency of revisions was approximately every 3-4 months, although my '65 catalog has 6 revisions.

I have about 55 or more Chevrolet parts catalogs.
I have three 1965 Chevrolet Parts Catalogs (effective Oct. 64, Jan. 65, and May 65).

My 1964 catalog has an effective date of Oct. 1, 1963.

The 1964 P&A catalog I am looking for has a Revised Date of July 1, 1964, not an Effective Date. The Effective Date as I understand is the first issue catalog for each model year, and all others that follow for the same model year are Revised Dates. From the list of P&A catalogs I am working with from 1963 to 1970 there seems to be a pattern of Effective Dates being October 1st and Revised dates being July 1st. I don't think this 1964 Revised date July 1, 1964 catalog is uncommon, I'm sure it's out there in someones library and it's just a matter of finding the right person.

Joe has helped me with this in the past, but he does not have these two P&A catalogs that I am still looking for.

I have been contacted by David and I think we are going to do business with the 1965 P&A catalog with Effective date October 1, 1964 as he does have this one.

Now the search is on for the other one.

The article I am preparing, with two co-authors, is not about the P&A catalogs but instead about a single specific Group Number and its contents within each catalog. I will readily admit that I am not a scholar on the various volumns and revisions of the P&A catalogs, but working with these catalogs 1963 to 1970 there seems to be a pattern of Effective Dates being October 1st and Revised dates being July 1st.
