Pillar weather strip attachments
Could some please post a pic of the windshield pillar weatherstrip attachment at the bottom of the windshield on an early 63? I have two screws there but I think I may need to add a push-in of some type...

I don't know a great deal about 63s but I did see a fairly original one recently that had the two screws and then the top hole in the weather strip riveted to the drip rail. Don't know if that helps at all. -

If you search the archives there were a lot of things that went on in this area to stop water leaks so a variation in this area is to be expected, especially in the later mid years.
I have some good pictures of an original un molested 63 --but not here with me, it will have to be later today.Comment

Are there holes under the rubber? If only two i would not touch the area even if I lost points! Would be really surprised if someone restored the car and filled that hole, but possible.Comment

I don't know what was originally there, or, if there are holes there, but I was told that a plastic push-pin or rivet should be there. This is a fairly early car (November 29) if that helps.

I'll have to send you the photo to your email, I can't down size the picture from the computer I am currently located in front of for the next day or so.
These 63 strips were two screws only.
There are at least three obvious versions to the trained eye from 63 - 67 before the service part, and the repros are not worth discussing, they were a nightmare, don't follow the body contour, its not even clear they used a Corvette part to copy.
Both versions I tried got sent back and then I discovered...
Everyone that wanted the closest look to original has used NOS and they will be pretty close to the 63 design.
Tooling cost is the issue to do an exact reproduction; and not too many people out there seem to be concerned about an exact original look.Comment
