    67 engine cooling system markings

Lost fall I entered my 67 327/350 coupe in the local NCRS chapter Top Flight judging. It was awarded the Top Flight award but there were a few of the small items I thought I'd correct this spring. One of them is listed in the Chassis section on the line for "Expansion tank, mounting, cap, overflow & return hoses/clamps". Points were deducted for both originally and condition with the comment written "missing 73". Does anyone know what this means?

    Thanks

Charles, I believe they are refering to inspection labels on the expansion tank usually a 7 or a 3 long island corvette carrries them. Dave.

      Ray,
Just a guess on the judges thoughts, but I think he/she is referring to the tranparent square, green numbered (7 and 3) sticker. One attaches to the expansion tank (3)and one attaches to the radiator(7) on 63-66 cars. 67?

I'm not aware of any requirement for those decals/stickers on a '67 expansion tank.

Hey guys, thanks for your quick response. I hve found them in Long Island's catalog. But I see one also goes on the radiator. Do you know of any pictures on the WEB that would help me get these in the proper locations? Also are they both 3's, both 7's, one of each, or completely rendom?

          Thanks again for your help.

I don't mean to change years, but does the expansion tank for a 70 BB have an 8 sticker on the tank?

              John,

I think you are right. I don't remember having an inspection sticker on my original 67 S/B expansion tank.

But it is long gone, so I have no proof.
