I have two different versions of the fan-pulley used on 1966 Corvettes w/300 HP engine and without AC.
Both fan-pulleys are dimensionally the same and I assume that they were made by two different companies.
In the photo the fan-pulley on the left side is stamped "3843342 AJ" and has 6 rectangular indentations forming a circle with a radius of about 1 3/16" on the front face. The back side has a single number "1" which I believe represents the month of January as this fan-pulley was removed from a 1100693 37A alternator dated "6 B 11" (Feb. 11, 1966).
The fan-pulley on the right side does NOT have a stamped GM part number but does have 6 circular indentations forming a circle with a radius of about 1 3/8" on the front face. The back side has a larger number "2" (February) as this fan-pulley was removed from a 1100693 37A alternator dated "5 B 26" (Feb. 26, 1965) that came from a 1965 Chevrolet w/283 engine.
The 3843342 fan-pulleys were used on 1965-1966 Chevrolets, Chevelles, and Novas as well as 1966 Corvettes with base engines and without AC.
My two questions to those who still have there original alternators on their 1966 Corvettes w/300 HP engines and without AC are this:
1. Is you 11-blade fan-pulley stamped "3843342 AJ"?
2. How does the number (# 1 to #12) on the back side of the fan-pulley compare to the date code on your 1100693 alternator?
