Re: C3 jack 'wide' or 'narrow'?
Tom,
I have also noticed the "SMP" stamping on post type bumper jacks on "late" 1970's Camaros and Firebirds. I never knew it stood for Stant Manufacturing Products. I guess you learn something every day.
I have about 50 or so post type bumper jacks for 1960's and "early" 1970's Chevrolets, Chevelles, Camaros, and Novas. These post type bumper jacks were made by AUSCO, Universal Tool Co., Walker Manufacturing CO. (the muffler company), and RH Inc.

And it's the 'wide' saddle type that I think is correct. I saw several '72-'73 dated jacks that had the narrower saddle, I'm leaning towards these being for different cars. The mysteries never cease.
