The drawing in Adams' book has " '67 Clutch Rod" written on the drawing itself, the caption (part of a longer caption above the previous drawing) says Washer 3754153 at the clutch rod location was new for '67 ("1967 only").
I think you're right. The 67 clutch rod washer is a different part number than the one for 63-66, at least in the Adams book.

The washer shown in the 63 and 66 AIM's is a 3834560. The one in the Adams book for 67 is a 3754153.

      Michael and Rich,

After doing some more research, the clutch rod was changed from GM 3819154 in 1965 (UPC 7-C2) to GM 3888213 for 1966. The P&A shows the change occurred 11-66. The new clutch rod is called out in the 1966 AIM (7-C2), and the change is noted in the Revision Record, but no date is given. The inboard washer (3834560) is shown in both the 1966 & 1967 AIM, but the subject washer of this discussion (GM 3754153), on the outboard side of the Clutch Rod (LH, from driver's position), is not shown in the '66 AIM (no washer at all in the outboard location for 1966).

The 1967 AIM shows this washer on the outboard side of the clutch rod, it is Item 17 on 7-C2, and the Revision Record shows that Item 17 was added 7-21-66.

There is a drawing for GM 3888213 clutch rod on page 329 (Adams). I didn't find a drawing for the earlier 3819154 clutch rod.

        .
Ok, so the inner washer between the clutch pedal and clutch rod, 3834560, remained the same for 63 through at least 67.

And from the Adams book, a new/additional washer, part number 3754153, was added to the outside of the clutch rod at the clutch pedal?? I don't think I've ever seen that.

Anyway, the dimensions on the 3754153 do indeed sound like the correct dimensions for the exhaust manifold bolt washers.

          Michael,

Here is the page from the '67 AIM. I checked my clutch parts bag, and no washer matching 3754153 was with the other parts. There are indications that it had been apart before (probably many times), so no way to tell whether this January '67 car came from the factory with the 3754153 washer at the outboard clutch rod location or not.

Thanks Scott. Was the pin on the clutch pedal actually long enough for both an inner and outer washer?

Maybe all 67's originally had the 2nd washer but I just never noticed it?

I will measure it, next time I'm out to work on the car.

'63-'66 didn't use the outboard washer - only the thick inboard spacer. The outboard washer was added for '67 to keep the pushrod from knocking the pretzel clip off, and at the same time, the bolt-on pin bracket was cancelled and replaced with a bracket welded to the side of the clutch pedal arm. I suspect the pin length was also increased at that time to accommodate the thickness of the added-for-'67 outboard washer, as you can't insert the pretzel clip if you use the outboard washer on a '63-'66.
