    Rear Brake Cylinders

I have been collecting brake cylinders for my 1961 project car. I have noticed numerous listings for NOS # 5450649 "649" rear cylinder on EBAY. I am down-loading pictures, one from EBAY and the other I believe to be an original. Would the difference in appearance be a different casting mold for a service replacement cylinder? Is there any other differences?
    Thanks for any information!

Just a blank casting, no info.

I have a strong feeling that this eBay wheel cylinder is some sort of reproduction, GM-authorized or otherwise. Delco-Moraine has not manufactured these wheel cylinders in a VERY long time. The last wheel cylinders available from GM were an "outsourced" piece and didn't have any Delco-Moraine markings on them. Besides, the "Delco-Moraine" embossment on this cylinder just doesn't appear "quite right" to me.

            Thanks! Joe & Bill

I purchased some original front and rear cylinders and was just curious to the difference between mine and the EBay cylinders. Some bidders are paying dearly for what might be reproductions.

Just an FYI: there are original ''649" cylinders which were tapped for 3/8" hydraulic line fittings instead of the 5/16" used by Corvettes. I think they were for Pontiac.
