    '66 Parking Brake Handle Pin

This question has to do with the type of pin utilized to attach the parking brake handle to the shaft. I received a rolled type pin from ZIP and its diameter is too wide to insert into the opening on the bottom of my original parking brake handle. I guess I could take a hammer and work on the pin, however, is this the only type of pin available in the market for this application?

Also, what type of pin did the factory utilized? Lastly, it appears that the opening on the bottom of the parking brake handle is threaded. Thank You

John, Not familiar with the repop, post a picture and we should be able to compare that to the original.

John; checked my originals and seems to be a solid pin. Since they're installed, I don't know if hole is threaded or not. Looks like it would be a heck of job to remove the handle with those pins in place, as on one car, it protudes about 3/32" and the other is flush.

Factory used same type of drift type pin but my original was not that tight of a fit. I would file it down a bit until it was a resonable fit and push or tap it in place. I just had mine apart a couple of months ago.
